A Comforting Brew of Different Memes

All of us have coping mechanisms, whether we admit it or not. It goes without saying that some of these are more harmful than others, especially when they lead down the slippery slope of addiction. In the grand scheme of things, needing a dose of memes in our lives every day is one of the less terrible ones.

In fact, we can kind of market it to ourselves as a comfort. When we've just had a long, hard day, or we're just about to begin one, the memes can offer a respite that doesn't hit the same coming from anywhere else. Stupid entertainment really is the best medicine, even when we're not sick. It can heal that bad mood we didn't even know we were in, and all it requires is a couple of minutes of attention. There aren't many things that are capable of working a little miracle like that.
